Anti-spam MOD for phpBB3, extension for phpbb3.1

Protect guest posts?

Unread postby pvols1979 » 21 Feb 2017, 19:40

I am using Cleantalk with PhpBB 3.2. The extension appears to work perfectly for registrations, but I am not sure how it works against guest posts. Does it just check IP addresses? There are no emails required for guest posts, so I am not sure how it works.

Hello.

Thank you for your question.

We have the same question in our Ticket System, so I presume it was you as well.

I am copying the reply here:
Yes, our option SpamFireWall checks visitors IP even before it can go to your website. Enable this option in the extension's settings:
phpBB Admin Page —> Extensions —> Spam protection settings —> enable SpamFireWall —> Submit.

The same way you can check guest posts enabling the option "Moderate Guests".

Write back any time.

Kind regards.
