Registration failure

Unread post by Sablic » 08 Oct 2017, 07:19

Dear colleagues, there is seems like some error in API preventing our users from Russia from registration. No matter what computer we use trying to register the user from Russia(Windows 7/10, Mac OS X or Linux) it denies us with message "Forbidden. Enable Javascript." However if we are doing the same operation from US or Portugal it succeeds. If we are blocking VBulletin module "register_addmember_process, spam checking" it succeeds.

Here is some information regarding usage:
1. portugues.ru
2. vBulletin 3.8.5
3. mikst@me.com
4. http://portugues.ru/forum/register.php

Yep, I by mistake selected all the requests came from Russian IPs. However now I have selected the correct ones. For instance some of them done from 46.39.40.59 and some from 213.167.58.138. This is definitelly the clean IPs and these attemts were done manually by me however I got the same Forbidden Enable Javascript message.

Some time ago cleantalk tech support recommended to get back to version 1.2 maybe this is the problem?

It seems like the IPs we are selected were whitelisted and able to register but in case we are changing IP or just receiving the other IP from Provider the problem continues and we are unable to register again. So by this time Cleantalk works as an IP filtering tool for Russia. Unfortunately it's quite difficult to get all the Students IP addresses and e-mails to whitelist it. And from my opinion IP filtering can be done for free and more easy way than cleantalk.
