Does CleanTalk attempt to write to a local file?

Unread post by hadmin » 22 Jan 2015, 04:19

Does the CleanTalk module for Simple Machines attempt to write to a local file?

I ask because we some security software that makes most files read-only. Our Simple Machines database has crashed multiple times, and I wonder if that might be caused by the CleanTalk module trying to write to a read-only file.

Hi.
SMF package manager modify local files when any mod installing.
After installing CleanTalk mod local files not writing and not modifying.

Can you provide a list of files, where CleanTalk mod trying to write?

I think you answered my question, which was a bad guess on my part. No, cleantalk is not trying to write to any files after installation.

I'd like to change my question: is there any reason to think that cleantalk could cause a corruption of the session table for the Simple Machines forum database (table gatordav_smdbPROD.smf_sessions) ? Here is a set of errors as reported by tech support for my host:

No, there is no reason.
I understood your problem and think that is SMF or Database or performance problem.

CleanTalk use session by standart how it make SMF and other custom packages. But CleanTalk session writes do not make overhead.

So any request to your forum write vars to session file or session table.
Sometimes indexes of session table has broken and you get 'Incorrect key file for table smf_sessions'.

In this situation need tune SMF settings or MySQL settings with your hosting admin.

Please see topics, may be help:

Also try turn off database driven sessions.
