CleanTalk prevents guest checkout

Unread post by oysterbandit » 11 Jun 2015, 13:39

I have a big problem with CleanTalk on my Magento store. When CleanTalk is enabled it prevents the guest checkout. If a shopper uses the guest checkout option then they just get returned to the basket and can not proceed with the next step of checkout. I can see from my CleanTalk log that the email addresses have been approved, but something is stopping my store checkout from working properly with this extension. I also notice that the message I get on my store when a banned email address is entered does not look like the screenshot on the installation guide - it seems the user is taken to a CleanTalk failure screen rather than displaying a local message on my site? Need the cart issue fixed or I won't be paying for the full version!!

Hello, oysterbandit!
It seems, that you disabled CleanTalk, and i can't test your site and find errors on it. Please, enable it.
Also, you're using non-standart template and/or checkout modules. Can you tell us its names and (if it is possible) links for it?

Hi

I had to turn CleanTalk off because it blocks my checkout and we can not use or test the site.

I will turn it back on again now.

The site uses a theme called Ultimo by Infortis

Do you need access to my site or my test site to help you understand the problem?

Kind regards

Hello, oysterbandit!
Try to use attached archive. Download it, go to admin panel->System->Magento connect->Magento connect manager, in "Extensions" tab, find "Cleantalk_Antispam" in extensions list, in its dropdown menu select "Uninstall", press "Commit changes". Then find "Direct package file upload", select downloaded archive and press "Upload". Then try to test guest checkout again.
Please, let us know, does it helped you or not.

Hi.
Thank you for your reply.

I have re-installed your module from the new file and my guest checkout is working again while CleanTalk is enabled on my store.

However, there is now no spam protection at all on the guest checkout. I can place an order and register for a newsletter using the stop_email@example.com address and it is not blocked.

Before, when it wasn't working properly, I could see in my CleanTalk dashboard that the guest checkout email had been verified ok but it would not then progress properly to the next checkout step. Now it looks as if the email address is not being checked by you at all? It gets round the immediate problem of my checkout not working but removes part of the protection I wanted.

Can you fix this?

Kind Regards

Thank You

I appreciate the help!

I have noticed some other strange behaviour too. When the CleanTalk module is enabled it also blocks some of the functions in my admin pages. For example if I try and change details in the System/Configuration/Contacts pages then the admin panel closes down. This happens with the admin of other modules that have an email field too - as soon as I try and save/update changes in the Magento admin panel then it closes. If I disable CleanTalk and try again it is fine.

This does not seem correct to me?

Regards
