Hello,

Our developers cannot determine the cause withour FTP access.

If you have any additional details about the issue, please, let us know.

FTP access to do what? Upload or download a file? Look at the contents of another file? Seems they could relay those requests to me, and I could easily perform those tasks or provide those results.

My guess is that you don't mean FTP access, but rather console access. That would make more sense. But again, if your developers could relay any requests to me, I can easily perform those tasks and provide those results. Same as I did for the ping requests.

As a software developer myself, I've had to troubleshoot my software on dozens of remote PC's for which I was never provided direct access. Instead, I had to add debug logging to my software. I then have my users enable debug logging, and they send me the log files. This approach works extremely well, and I highly encourage your developers to try this.

If I had to take a guess as to the nature of the problem, I would suggest that a particular network port is being blocked by AWS, or a DNS lookup is failing. Seems like something I could help you troubleshoot, though you would have to tell me port #'s, IP's and domains to check.

The main purpose of our website is to deliver software, and our users trust us to keep software safe for them to run. As such, it would be poor judgement on our part to allow any 3rd party company access to the console or file system of our web server. I mean no disrespect, I'm sure your company is fine, but this is a line I am not allowed to cross for any 3rd party, not just you. I hope you understand, and I hope you and your developers are agreeable to using other methods to troubleshoot this issue.

I hope you don't mind, I reviewed your code, identified the issue, and found the solution.

I traced the problem to the sendRawRequest function. Everything looked good through the stream_context_create step, but the final $result was coming back null.

I noticed that the context option for timeout was being left at a default of 3 seconds, which seemed pretty aggressive. On a hunch, I increased this to 30 seconds, and now I get a list of 16 blacklisted users - some of which I already suspected of being spam accounts, and none of which were known good accounts.

Here is the change I made:

static public function sendRawRequest($url, $data, $isJSON = false, $timeout = 30)

Your welcome.
Paul

Paul, thank you for your great work! I will transfer this to our developers.

I've also added 3 months to your license as a compensation for your solution of this issue.

Best regards
